BRANCH AND BONE
Real Learning
For young people, learning outside can provide opportunities to develop the most fundamental habits and dispositions. The sort of stuff that equips them for life.

Working with schools, nurseries, teachers and children across Tyneside, Branch and Bone offer services, resources, training and advice that can help you transform indoor and outdoor provision for the young people in your care.

ABOUT US...
Design and build outdoor spaces, training, resourcing consultancy
Emma Packard, experienced Early Years teacher and School Improvement Advisor. Her creative and innovative approach to supporting a wide range of schools and settings is valued by the practitioners she works with. Her focus is always on what is right for the school, and the children within it. She has a particular passion for developing meaningful practice and provision through learning environments which are rich in open ended resources.

Nick Packard, 30 years of experience in education across all age ranges, including staff development, and really quite handy, when it comes right down to it!

Dismayed by the excessive prices, closed approaches and disconnection between what children and practitioners actually need and what is often offered by ‘outdoor area’ companies, we decided to launch Branch and Bone. Our motivation is to provide a range of beautiful and effective design and resourcing solutions focussed around the needs and budgets of individual schools.

OUTDOOR LEARNING
Creative, challenging outdoor activities
Our products and designs include bespoke and purpose-built resources that provide children with opportunities to explore, create and develop their social, emotional and physical skills.
Focussed on curriculum connections and outcomes. Supporting and developing challenge, resilience, collaboration, communication, problem solving and encountering and managing risk.

OUTDOOR SPACES
Plan, design, create
Working with school communities to create bespoke, affordable, stimulating, outdoor spaces. Talking with you to identify the specific priorities for your children and your context, we develop these ideas into designs and plans, sourcing relevant resources and helping you find suppliers if necessary.
